Unknown Control Unit Variant issue on Dodge

     We are trying to work on a 1999 Dodge Cummins, using the Chrysler CCD connector. We are trying to connect to the TCM, but it redirects us to the PCM. If we disconnect the PCM and try strictly to connect to the TCM we get the "Unknown control unit variant. ID:08120D0E". What kind of issues should we be looking for here?

      no issue this vehicles have a pcm, (ecm/pcm)the tcm is part of the pcm if you disconnect it then  it cant read tcm data. if the pcm is connected are you able to communicate with them at all.?

     I had the same issue today but just trying to get to the pcm. I had to go thru the obd2 generic which doenst give much data pids
